UPDATE FROM ADAM

Hi everybody!

Adam here. I'm sorry it's been so long, as I'm sure both of you who like reading my blog have been waiting and waiting for me to write something, eh?

Thought so... haha

Hey, if you don't regularly, check out Geno's bhlog on wildcolonialbhoys.com. Hilarious stuff from him this week--he's a very witty guy.

SO, what's been going on with us? LOTS of travel and gigs lately. This past weekend we did our famous O'Donovan's/Dubliner stint. The O'D's gigs were cool--thanks to those of you who were there all three nights! You're all nuts, but I'm not going to tell you that. ;o)

The Dub was AWESOME last night--we played three really good sets, several new tunes which went over well, and the crowd was really into it the whole time.

I have to say I'm pretty excited for this coming Friday--we return to O'Gara's again with our full band. It was really incredible last time we were there for our CD release party, and we hope to get HALF the crowd we got in February!

Oh, and ladies, take note. We'll have new girlie T's, which we've been sold out of for awhile. In a range of new sizes and the whole deal!

What else is going on? LOTS!

The Irish Fair lineup was just announced, and we're really excited! We got two really good spots on the main stage, opening for the big boys! Friday we will be the first act on at 5:30pm. We'll be opening for the Young Dubliners and The Mahones. The Young Dubs have always been very supportive of us so we are thrilled to be on a bill with them. I've never seen The Mahones, so I'm looking forward to checking them out. We've been compared to them so I hope they are good! ;o) I'm sure they will be!

Sunday we'll be on at 5:00pm, right in front of Gaelic Storm, so we have a a chance to get some great exposure. Sounds like fun! We're going to bring the big band both days, and I can't wait for three days of food, fun and music. The Irish Fair is one of the highlights of our annual calendar!

Keep an eye out too--we'll be announcing something big in the next few days--a huge step forward for WCB!!

Laters,

Adam!

WILD COLONIAL BHOYS TO RELEASE NEW STUDIO ALBUM

Local Irish music favorites Wild Colonial Bhoys will release their new studio album on February 10th. Titled "Irish In America", the album is the third Bhoys release and is the first to feature a full-band line up with guest musicians. "We wanted to focus on certain themes on this album that we've been thinking about, and the songs we wrote deserved some extra instrumentation," says singer Adam Coolong. "We're very proud of the way the sound has turned out, thanks to great musicians like Sean Conway and John Wright."

The album features eleven tracks of mostly original material, with a few of the old favorites that fans are sure to recognize. Says guitarist Geno Carlson, "we think we achieved a good mix of old and new on this album, that people will really enjoy. It was so much fun being able to experiment with different arrangements and instrumentations. We can't wait to recreate it live!"

Usually an acoustic guitar duo, the Wild Colonial Bhoys will play with a full band for their CD release party on February 10th at O'Gara's Garage in St. Paul. "This is the first time we are going to be trying Wild Colonial Bhoys tunes with a drummer, bass player and fiddler", remarks Geno. "It'll be really cool to see the reaction!"

Come see the Bhoys on February 10th at O'Gara's, Snelling and Selby in St. Paul. The show starts at 9:30pm and will be the first opportunity to purchase "Irish In America".
